Programming Description

This course focuses on the tasting of wines from Canada and around the world. Learn and improve your skills and be able to distinguish among wine varietals from cool and warm climates; new world and old world wine countries are all covered. All of the major international varietals are covered.

Learner Outcomes

Each week a major varietal or varietal group is discussed and tasted. Through the completion of this coures students will: Achieve basic competencies in varietal recognition, understanding of wine regions, understanding of cool versus warm regions, develop an apprecation of wine varietals and regions within which they are grown, develop basic skills related to the critical assessment of wines, hae increased confidence in wine selection and purchasing, have a desire to pursue further levels of wine education.

Notes

You must be 18 years of age or older as of the first day of classes to take this course.

OSAP Eligibility: This course qualifies for OSAP funding as a micro-credential.
