Programming Description

Critical pedagogical lens with which to explore key topics in intermediate education including theoretical foundations, learner development, program planning and implementation, instructional practices, assessment, and evaluation, learning environment and ethical considerations related to teaching and learning in a holistic and integrated manner. **Please note this course does not give you the qualifications to teach grades 7 and 8.  

Learner Outcomes

Analyze current research, best practices, and resources related to technology use, safety, copyright, collaboration tools, and the implications of online, blended, and eLearning classroom environments on Intermediate students in Ontario.*Evaluate effective communication and engagement strategies for authentic collaboration with parents, families, caregivers, guardians, school/board personnel, and community agencies.Reflect on and discuss available tools and resources related to teaching and learning through various methods, including face-to-face and online modalities.*Apply knowledge gained to enhance teaching practices in the Intermediate classroom setting in Ontario, with a focus on technology integration, safety, copyright, collaboration, and effective communication.
