Programming Description

Activities and practices for teachers of the primary/junior grades, with attention to current theory and philosophy. Primary program and motor skills development in dance, gymnastics and games; health education and organizational procedures. Instramural activities, planned by students and faculty.

Learner Outcomes

Develop a deep understanding of the evolving standards and practices in Health and Physical Education to effectively adapt teaching methods and curriculum.*Create an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment that respects and embraces diverse student identities and needs.*Integrate literacy, inquiry, and numeracy skills into Health and Physical Education lessons to enhance learning outcomes across subjects.*Create an active learning environment that supports students' physical, cognitive, and affective development, focusing on active living, movement competence, and healthy living.*Understand and apply legal frameworks, high-risk activity management protocols, and health and safety considerations in Health and Physical Education settings.*Utilize culturally responsive and relevant pedagogy to ensure that all students feel represented and valued in the classroom.
