Programming Description

Additional strategies for reviewing, developing and implementing changes in mathematics at the Primary/Junior level. Topics may include assessment strategies for student achievement, diagnostic techniques and programming for students with special needs and abilities. The course explores:*What makes a good leader?*Program planning, development and implementation, supporting all learners*Instructional design and practices, assessment and evaluation,*The learning environment,*Developing and leading a professional learning experience*The interconnections of mathematics across strands and topics*Reflecting on our own teaching and learning experiences and how they inform how we practice

Learner Outcomes

Apply diverse strategies for reviewing, developing, and implementing changes in Primary/Junior level mathematics education.*Evaluate assessment strategies and diagnostic techniques to support student achievement and individual needs.*Analyze effective leadership qualities and their application in mathematics education.*Design and implement inclusive program plans and instructional practices to support diverse learners.*Create a conducive learning environment and facilitate professional growth through reflective practice in mathematics education.

Prerequisites

1. OCT MEMBERSHIP showing completion of Part 2/ 2. CONFIRMATION OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE FORM Signed by a Supervisory Official* from your School Board confirming that you have two years (388 days) of teaching experience since becoming a certified teacher, one year (194 days) of which is in the subject area of this course.
