Programming Description

This course focuses on the discipline and theory underpinning the study of science. As an Additional Basic Qualification, this course also explores the development of adolescents, program planning and delivery issues, the elementary and secondary school environment and other issues related to teaching and learning in grades 7 to 10. At least one half of the course concentrates on subject specific curriculum.

Learner Outcomes

Incorporate professional knowledge to create engaging programs.* Explore pedagogical processes, assessments, and evaluation practices that connect curriculum to learner interests, strengths, inquiries, needs, and well-being.* Apply Ontario curriculum, resources, and government policies, frameworks, and strategies to design Intermediate Science courses.* Explore the integration of culturally inclusive pedagogies in program design, planning, and development.

Prerequisites
