Course Description

Discover the art of cider appreciation in an immersive experience designed to elevate your knowledge and experience. Over four Saturdays, journey from classroom to cidery, learning directly from expert cidermakers and tasting unique ciders, both local and international. You’ll explore diverse cider styles, cider and food pairing techniques, and the craftsmanship behind each glass of cider. This course is for those seeking to gain a better understanding of cider as a craft beverage by visiting cidery settings that are enjoyable as they are educational.

Learner Outcomes

This course is designed to provide participants with: a general knowledge of cider history and production, experience tasting a range of international and local ciders, an understanding of cider styles and their general descriptions, the ability to confidently pair cider with food.

Notes

This course will be offered over several Saturday afternoons at various locations within the Niagara/Hamilton region. The first class will take place at Brock University's main campus. Further information about locations and transportation options will be discussed at the first session.

This course will be offered on four sequential Saturdays (March 22, March 29, April 5, April 12) from 2 to 4 pm. The first class (March 22) will take place at Brock University's main campus. Subsequent classes will take place at cideries within the Niagara/Hamilton region. Further information about locations and transportation options will be discussed at the first class.
