Programming Description

In this micro-credential, you'll develop the skills and expertise to design, implement, and evaluate effective training programs by exploring learning and motivation theories, needs analysis, and training design. You’ll gain insights into practical strategies for various learning environments through both off-the-job and on-the-job training methods, as well as delivery and transfer of training. By assessing the costs and benefits of training initiatives, you will build a solid foundation for making informed decisions by examining various training methods and evaluation techniques. By the end, you will create and assess comprehensive training plans that align with organizational goals and drive performance improvement, preparing you to stay ahead in a rapidly changing field.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this micro-credential, you will

• Identify key metrics used in the evaluation of training programs.

• Describe key concepts related to learning and motivation theories.

• Utilize needs-analysis data to tailor training programs to specific organizational needs.

• Compare and contrast different training delivery methods and their effectiveness in various organizational contexts.

• Assess the costs and benefits of different training programs and methods.

• Examine the evolution and future trends in training and development.

• Apply leadership development techniques to foster organizational growth.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of a training program in meeting Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requirements, identifying areas for improvement.

• Develop a comprehensive training evaluation plan to measure the effectiveness of a training program.

• Design a comprehensive training roadmap for new employees.

Notes

TIME COMMITMENT: This micro-credential consists of 40 Hours of learning. This time allotment includes ongoing and active participation in the online discussion area and the completion of readings, assignments and tasks. 

OSAP Eligibility: This course qualifies for OSAP funding as a micro-credential.
