EDUC 9N685 - Teaching Students with Behavioural Needs
Programming Description
Teaching Students with Behavioural Needs is a practical, interactive course that gives educators the skills to support students with diverse behavioural needs. Through six modules, you’ll explore how behaviour connects to development, mental health, and learning. You’ll learn to use Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs), develop Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs), and apply the Collaborative and Proactive Solutions model.
The course focuses on creating inclusive, student-centered classrooms using culturally responsive and accessible practices. You’ll reflect on your teaching, strengthen your ethical decision-making, and build positive behaviour supports. You’ll also learn how to work with families, school teams, and community partners to help each student succeed.
